Dr. Ahmad Anwar, chairman of COI, Dr. Aram, minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Fatah, deputy minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research attended the event. In addition, around 150 other high ranking officials were also attended the event including Dr. Alan Hama Saaed. Minister of education, Dr. Jutyar Adel, the chairman of the department of Media and information, Omer Xoshnaw, Erbil mayor as well as many other officials from KRI government departments.
The opening speech delivered by Dr. Ahmad, chairman of COI, in which he highlighted the significance of holding such a forum and vital role of universities in developing communities and the urgency of research integrity. He also thanked UNDP for their continuous cooperation.
Dr. Ahmed Anwar chairman of commission of Integrity of Kurdistan region presented a speech in the meeting and stated, science and education are the way of developing countries, today all countries in the world are proud of their academy, scientist, and the number of their centers, research and the quality of education.
In another part of his speech he put the light on the duty of commission and stated" commission of integrity as its duty participates in reform process in all sectors of life, service, cooperation and removing obstacles.
He also stated that, scientific investigation is the basis of the process of higher education which investigators implement investigations and they lean on data and information. He also ensured that today's students who are in universities must pay attention to responsibility of managing the society.
According to the chairman of commission of integrity those letters which will written in MA and PHD have significant and fateful importance, not only for ministry of higher education, but for all Kurdistan society.
Later on, Dr. Aram Mohammed, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHESR) in his speech highlighted the role of MHESR in improving scientific research. He also referred to the success of forum. Other activities of the forum were the two panels focusing at Research Integrity. The title of the first panel was “the challenges and issues encountering research integrity, and the second panel titled “the channels of encountering deviation from academic research integrity. At the end of the event a number of recommendations formulated from the participants to legally address the issue of research integrity.
.Common meeting between commission of integrity of Kurdistan region and ministry of higher education and scientific research with the cooperation of UNDP organization in Iraq took place with discussion of many important issues and strengthening its work.
