On Tuesday 6/7/2021, in judicial council building in Baghdad, the ceremony of declaring the program of investigation in financial crimes took place that Dr. Ahmed Anwar chairman of commission of Integrity of Kurdistan Region participated.
Miss. Zina Ali representative of UNDP organization in Iraq, Judge Fayaq Zidan chairman of higher judicial council in Iraq, judge Ala Jawad chairman of commission of Integrity of Iraq and a number of related officials and judges were present in the meeting.
The budget of this program was provided by America for two years for developing judges' abilities, commission of Integrity and public prosecutors in investigation field.

In the name of commission of Integrity of Kurdistan region I'm thankful for this ceremony which is about financial investigation and was arranged by UNDP organization and American consulate in Iraq, because the main problem of corruption crimes is gaining money illegally, that’s why financial investigation needs collecting proofs which considered the most important way for Anti-Corruption and illegal achievement.
Anti-Corruption issue is a viable issue for our country, is a huge problem that leads to wasting public asset and we need to return those public assets for serving our citizens. I'm reminding you that the danger of corruption is not less than the danger of terrorism. Previously the project of supporting Anti-Corruption between EU and UNDP in Iraq and Kurdistan Region were declared for four years, and now we think that Iraq needs a huge support for Anti-Corruption war.
We are in commission of Integrity of Kurdistan Region with having few abilities tried very hard for Anti-Corruption, hundreds cases of corruption were send to special court of Integrity, and now we have hundreds of cases under investigation, in addition to those many other cases were concluded by court.
Lately upon request of commission of Integrity of Kurdistan Region, judicial council decided to establish a special court for corruption cases, we hope that they will establish soon so as to conclude many other corruption cases soon.
We prepared a national strategy of Anti-Corruption which is now presented to council of ministries of Kurdistan region so as to be accepted.
But I tell that our commission started its duty back in 2014 in a difficult situation and we need a many support for Anti-Corruption, building abilities, opening development courses, getting experience from necessary fields and providing other needs.
In the end I want to talk about that Anti-Corruption needs a strong political aim, full cooperation between authorities, related commissions, organizations of civil society and media.
Also beside that, it's very important that the independence of commission and institutions related to Anti-Corruption to be protected and be far from political parties, take their work into consideration and implement their work professionally.
